Description
This common thyme (Thymus vulgaris) is grown organically (BIO) in southern Crete as the dry-thermal climate of these areas helps the plant to obtain a unique profile of essential oils that make it a particularly aromatic and tasty spice.
Its taste is quite intense and slightly spicy and its dried leaves have a "live" brown-green color .
Its aroma is mild and sweet at the same time.
In addition to its use as a spice in various "dishes" it is used in cooking as an additive in aromatic olive oils and marinades.
Thyme also has many healing properties and its tisane, infusion and extract are traditionally used for the mild treatment of many diseases.
